GRACE VYCOR™ ICE & WATER SHIELD® HT is a high-temperature self-adhered roofing underlayment designed for superior performance in demanding conditions. It combines a proprietary rubberized asphalt adhesive with a high-performance polymeric film featuring UV barrier properties. The adhesive is shielded by a foldless release paper, which is easily removed during application to allow for a secure bond to the roof deck. The embedded RIPCORD® feature provides a "split release on demand" capability, facilitating application in detail areas. It can be left exposed for up to 120 days before the final roof covering is installed. GRACE VYCOR™ ICE & WATER SHIELD® HT protects under various sloped roof coverings, including metal, slate, tile, cedar shakes, and conventional asphalt shingles. It also features a slip-resistant surface for enhanced traction and safety. The membrane is resistant to cracking, drying out, or rotting, offering long-lasting protection. Local technical support is available to assist with applications. For installation, it's important to prepare a clean, dry, and continuous structural deck. Proper priming may be required for certain surfaces. GRACE VYCOR™ ICE & WATER SHIELD® HT should be applied in fair weather conditions when temperatures are at least 40°F (5°C). Side laps should be a minimum of 3.5 in. (90 mm) and end laps a minimum of 6 in. (150 mm). The membrane should be installed such that all laps shed water, starting from the low point to the high point of the roof. Various precautions and limitations should be observed, such as using fall protection, removing slippery release liners promptly, and covering the membrane within 120 days if left exposed to sunlight.
